10 year old husky mix with with an approximately 10cm soft tissue sarcoma over the left lateral elbow.  Wide local excision was performed, and the defect was closed using an axial pattern flap. The mass was completely excised. [more images]

9 year old beagle with recurrence of a previously-excised grade 2 soft tissue sarcoma on the left lateral thigh.  Owners were initially informed that amputation would be necessary for curative intent.  Owners were not interested in amputation so patient was referred for consult.  We elected to perform a wide local excision with flank fold flap for closure. 11 year old chihuahua with an approximately 4cm previously excised mast cell tumor (grade II / low grade) on the left caudodistal thigh.  Wide local excision was performed, including the associated popliteal lymph node.  The defect was closed with a flank fold flap. The mass was completely excised (no metastasis identified in the lymph node). [more images]
